Who we are and why this exists

durodola.africa is operated by Durodola Abdulhad, trading as Ascent Tech Hub Africa. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use this site, subscribe to the newsletter, purchase a guide or report, book a consulting session, or use our free diagnostic tools.

We take data seriously — not as a compliance checkbox, but because the people who read this site are founders, operators, and professionals who have extended their trust. We comply with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).

(02)

Information you give us and information we observe

Information you provide directly. When you subscribe to the newsletter, book a session, purchase a guide or report, or use our free tools, we may collect:

  • Your name and email address
  • Company name and role (where relevant to the service)
  • The responses you submit through diagnostic tools
  • Any information you share in correspondence or session bookings

Usage data we observe. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used. This includes pages visited, time on site, and referral source. We do not build individual user profiles from this data.

Payment data. Payments are processed entirely by third-party payment processors (such as Stripe or Paystack). We do not receive, store, or handle card numbers or bank details at any point.

(03)

What your data is actually used for

  • To deliver the newsletter and any purchased products to you
  • To respond to session booking requests and consulting enquiries
  • To send relevant product or content updates — you can unsubscribe at any time, in every email
  • To improve the site and diagnostic tools based on anonymised, aggregated usage patterns

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not use your data to train machine learning models. We do not run advertising retargeting on this site.

(04)

Why we're permitted to process your data (GDPR)

Contractual necessity

Processing your name and email to fulfil a purchase, deliver a guide, or schedule a consulting session.

Legitimate interest

Sending the newsletter to subscribers who actively opted in, and using anonymised analytics to improve the site.

Consent

Where we rely on consent — such as for email marketing — we ask for it explicitly and separately. You can withdraw consent at any time.

(05)

What you can ask us to do

Under GDPR and NDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access your data Correct inaccuracies Request deletion Object to processing Data portability Withdraw consent

To exercise any of these rights, email durodoladuro55@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for exercising your rights under normal circumstances.

(06)

How long we keep your information

  • Newsletter subscribers: Your email and name are retained for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your data is deleted from our mailing system within 30 days.
  • Purchase records: Invoices and transaction records are retained for 7 years to meet tax and accounting obligations under Nigerian law.
  • Diagnostic tool results: Responses submitted through the GTM Evaluation, GTM Scorecard, and SME Credit Audit tools are not stored server-side. Your results exist only in your browser session unless you choose to email them to yourself.
  • Session booking enquiries: Contact information submitted through session booking is retained for up to 2 years for follow-up and relationship continuity.
(07)

A minimal, honest cookie approach

We use essential cookies only — the kind that keep the site functional. We do not place advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site identifiers. We do not use Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.

Our analytics are handled through a privacy-respecting tool that does not set persistent cookies and does not build individual user profiles. Because of this, we do not show a cookie consent banner — there is nothing to consent to beyond the essential.

(08)

The tools we rely on to run this site

We work with a small number of third-party services to operate durodola.africa. Each operates under its own privacy policy and data processing agreements:

  • Email delivery: Our newsletter platform stores subscriber email addresses and manages delivery. Subscribers can opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link in each email.
  • Payment processing: Payments are handled by third-party processors. We do not see or store card details.
  • Session scheduling: Booking tools may collect your name, email, and chosen time slot to confirm appointments.

We do not embed third-party social media widgets, advertising SDKs, or any script that reports your behaviour back to a platform you haven't explicitly engaged with.

(09)

This site is not for under-18s

durodola.africa and all associated services are directed at business professionals and founders. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data through this site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

(10)

When and how this policy may change

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes — changes that affect how your data is collected, used, or shared — we will notify active newsletter subscribers by email before the changes take effect.

For minor editorial updates, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
